HEXCEL Fiberglass cloth

Different types of wefts & grammage of fiberglass will address all your address all your needs.

All of them, proposed by HEXCEL, have a clear TF970 finish, specifically designed for surfboard making.

Several products are available in this range :

  • 1522 : fabric is entwisted in both the length and the width. This is THE reference product, used by professional shapers. It comes on top of the fabric 471, for the lamination of your shortboard deck. Width: 67cm.

  • 1184 : fabric is entwisted in the length

  • 1266 : fabric is entwisted in the length, with a width of 130cm, for the manufacturing of wider boards, like Stand Up Paddles.

  • 471 : fabric is entwisted in the length and the width of the board.

  • S- Glass : a complete must if you are after strength/resistance, together with a lightweigth feature (only 125 gr/m2).


    • Reminder: a traditionnal lamination of a shortboad is made of a 125gr (4oz) layer + 1 layer of 200gr (6oz) on the deck, and one layer of 125gr (4oz) on the bottom of the board. 

    For addtitional strength, inertia or longer boards, 2 layers of 200gr (6oz) on the deck + 1 layer of 200gr (6oz) on bottom are required.
