Chopped glass fibers are a highly effective reinforcing additive, designed to be incorporated into polyester or epoxy resins.
Their purpose is to significantly improve strength and durability by providing greater rigidity and enhanced mechanical resistance.
Each fiber measures approximately 4.5 mm in length, with a diameter between 10 and 15 microns, and a density close to 2.6 g/cm³.
These optimized dimensions allow them to disperse easily within the resin, ensuring a homogeneous and efficient mixture.
Applications: installation of fin boxes, inserts, leash plugs, and more.
Their addition offers many advantages: a marked improvement in tensile, flexural, and impact resistance; better dimensional stability thanks to reduced shrinkage during curing; and compatibility with a wide range of resins.
How to use: simply prepare the resin, then gradually incorporate the chopped fibers, following a typical dosage of 5% to 30% by weight, depending on the desired level of reinforcement. Careful mixing ensures uniform dispersion.
Precautions: protective gloves, goggles, and a mask are recommended when handling. Store in a dry, ventilated place, away from humidity. In case of accidental eye contact, rinse thoroughly with clean water and seek medical advice if necessary.
